Finally a welcome change in depressing autumn weather was brought by first snowfall in my town this Sunday!

beautiful winter photos, it’s so great to see these as we don’t have snow in California except for the mountains… if we wanted to snow play, we have to drive up there. 🙂 thanks for the visit.
Thanks. That’s the beauty of nature… its diversity!
Brrrr! 🙂
Yeah it is! But sitting inside in warmth in this weather feels good 🙂
Here I am, stuck in another Texas December where we’re lucky if it dips below 60F, so thanks for sharing these beautiful photos and reminding me that somebody’s enjoying the snow…
I like your pics too! yesterday night it was -21 degree c 😉 The chill outside can make you feel so alive brrrr! and the warmth inside so cosy 🙂
We love snow here in Minnesota. Lovely photos 🙂
Yes I Love your pics too! Thanks a lot for appreciating 🙂
magical!
Isn’t it!
Beautiful shots…I’m not a fan of winter/snow, but I do like the look of fresh snow!
Thank you! first snow is always soothing to eyes, especially after being through depressing autumn.
What lovely photos! It looks like a quaint place where you live…Thank you for signing up to follow my blog! I hope that you find it fun and entertaining! – B
Thank you for appreciating my simple pics. These pics have no art cuz i took them from a simple nokia phone so all credit goes to the Nature which has bestowed this land with abundant serenity!
Still beautiful!
Thanks 🙂
I wish you a wonderful weekend!
Thanks. Wish you the same!
🙂
Beautiful snow pictures! I do wish it snowed here in my area…thank you for liking my post and following. ~ Marsha
Thanks for appreciating. I’m sure your place has its own beauty.
What an amazing place to live!
True. Its a blessing to live surrounded by nature in its full glory. Thanks for liking.
Indeed, I’d give my left ball to live in Scandinavia 😀
I like how tastefully you compose your appreciations! 😀
i am in the southern hemisphere, so it is wonderful to see your fabulous snow pics!
Thank you! Fresh snow looks beautiful!
The snow makes everything look so pretty! Where I live it doesn’t snow very much, but it is nice seeing your snow pics.
You are right. snow is always beautiful, and it brings light to the dark nights! Thanks for appreciating.
Very beautiful indeed!
Told you 😉
Gorgeous! I think there must be a touch of magic in the first snow falls of the season. Enjoy and thanks for the follow!
Cheers,
Missy Jean
It looks beautiful. Be safe on the roads though.
Thanks for liking. Its time to skate on roads 😉
Hienoja kuvia, onpas sulla upea piha!
Kiitos, kiva että pidät!
Isn’t 3rd December relatively late for snow in Finland? 😮
Winters nowadays r unpredictable, last winter we had to wait until january to get a snow cover, 24th dec was +10 in Helsinki.
Yeah, climate has been pretty fucked up everywhere lately.
Congratulations on the first snow, Alvar! The snow-covered city gives a different look, doesn’t it? Thank you for sharing with us.
Also, I appreciate you liking my recent post on an image that makes me feel of “African” although the subject in it is not. 🙂 And thank you for giving me the honor by following my photography blog.
Take care and happy holidays, Alvar!
Jean
Thanks! Yes indeed, snow covered city is such a change and relief from boring autumn. Your blog has amazing pictures. Happy Holidays too!
So pretty! Thank you so much for following. I’m very flattered.
Ah, is there anything prettier than a snow-covered evergreen? We get a lot of snow (usually) here in New Hampshire, USA. It always looks so pretty from inside the house, especially when I’m standing next to a woodstove. When I have to go out and shovel it, well, it still looks pretty, but it loses some of its magic… : )
Hello Septicalvar! I like your “About”, and these photos made me want to jump on a plane and head to Finland. Like a true Californian, I am enthralled with the idea and the beauty of snow. Of course living in it would be another matter, I am sure. But is always a precious thing to allow nature to lift us up. Thank you for the inspiration today.
Wow! so many words of appreciation for my humble posts. Thank you for being so kind. my photography skills cant do justice to the beauty of nature i witness everyday. Do make your wish to jump on a plane to Finland come true and see it for yourself. Winter only lasts four months here. So summer can be a good time for an unforgettable vacation! 😀
What georgeous winter shots! Winter is here for quite a while in Wisconsin.
Thank you! Winter arrived here in November but it wasn’t until December that we saw a full heavy snow cover! Its always a pleasant site after autumn.
So beautiful! I am bit “spoiled” when it comes to the quality of snow lol – but yours is really awesome!
Oh that’s so generous of you. Thanks 😀
Beautiful photos and snow! I love how you showed both the gorgeous side of a winter snowfall and the more dangerous reality of life with ice and snow on the ground.
Thank you. Life on ice is not so dangerous. Usually those snowstorms stop in Norway or Sweden. Not more than once in a winter in Finland. Because of those mountains in Norway, the snowstorms become mild by the time they arrive in Finland.
These photographs make snow as desirable as a summer beach.
Stunning snow photos!!!!
Thank you 😀
Stunning images here, I love them. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Thanks 😀
Lucky you! We’re having such a mild winter in the UK so far…I hope we don’t end up paying for it in the summer like we did last year (we had a lousy, wet summer).
Such power and beauty! I have never experienced real snow myself and find it fascinating. Thank you.
Thank you so much for apreciting.
Ahh, I’m jealous! I love snow, but we don’t have any. Nice pics. 🙂
Thank you 😀 I’m glad my pictures could bring the beauty of snow to you!
A beautiful series of pictures, wish I was there!
Thank you so much.
And I thought we had it bad last week with three inches (7.62 centimeters) of snow. The whole city was at a standstill.
the recent snowfall here was 24 inches and life never stops here. even in last winter when most International airports including london had come to a stop because of heavy snowfall, traffic was diverted to helsinki cuz we have developed mechanisms to work despite heavy snow 🙂
We have like half a metre and it’s totally chaotic.
By the way, no need for you to switch to inches for an American. Metric is international and they’re the ones who should adapt. You don’t see an American speaking Finnish, do you 😀 Besides, you’re only confusing us mortals who use metric system in general (only to please someone who should understand metric measurements) 😀
Some lovely photos! This weekend, we expect our first snow, all the way, allegedly, from Siberia! I am glad you like “In search of unusual destinations”, by the way. Phil.
Oh nice. Have fun and Thanks.
Thanks for the like on my snow pics, you clearly had way more snow in these lovely pics though x 🙂 so fun!
Thanks 🙂
I have been to Hameenlinna, my grandfather was christened there many years ago. He was born in Saakijarvi.
Oh, Haven’t heard of that place… Nice to know 🙂
It was a strong snowfall, snowdrifts grew large at once.
Brightly white snow and sunlight — a perfect winter.
Perfect! What can be more wonderful than a perfectly white Christmas?:p makes my day every time 🙂
Yeah! That’s true. It’s the way it should be.
Looks a lot like life here in Maine, USA. Just snow, snow, and more snow for five months of every year! Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting my blog.
Show some pics of your town too. Thanks
